Parenting isn’t easy, and it’s only made harder as your children get older and grow into new forms of freedom like driving. As much as you may want to, you can’t always be in the car with your child when he or she is on the road – you have to give them their space eventually. However, you don’t have to let them go altogether. Apps nowadays can allow you to be there to keep your child safe in ways parents used to only dream of.
Speed Notify is one of those apps. It allows you to constantly monitor your child’s speed while he or she drives and alerts you when your child starts speeding. All you have to do is download the app to both phones, yours and your child’s, and sync the phones together. Then simply set a speed limit and you’ll receive alerts whenever your child drives over that limit.
The app works best in countries that have license limits for younger drivers, but can work well anywhere due to the GPS-enabled readout that highlights the exact location of your child’s vehicle down to the longitude and latitude. A log is kept of all the times your child violates the set speed limit, and parents can change limit any time.
The parent phone can be synced with multiple phones at once, helping larger families keep track of all their little speedsters at any given moment. Should a child get smart and try to delete the app from his or her phone, an alert is sent immediately to the parent phone telling them that they’ve been cut off from their child.
The app only costs $4.99 and could potentially save your children’s life. It won’t protect them against the other speedsters on the road, but it’ll make them less likely to be the cause of a major accident. Speed Notify is just one more example of how apps are making our lives that much easier and safer.
